Teeline Introduction

TeeLine Introduction

Intended for anyone who wants to develop core skills in a widely recognised shorthand system, including secretaries, students and journalists. The course requires no prior knowledge.


The course takes between 60 and 80 hours to complete and consists of three stages which should be completed in quick succession to avoid ‘learning gaps’.


Stage 1: Simple introduction to Teeline; Parts 1 and 2 of a 4 part programme; training to reach 40-50 wpm with a reasonable vocabulary; two test papers.


Stage 2: Completes the theory of Teeline; Part 3 of the programme; training to reach 50-60 wpm; one test paper.


Stage 3: Speed building and vocabulary extension; Part 4 of the programme; training to reach 60-70 wpm, the RSA standard; two test papers.


A certificate is issued upon satisfactory completion of all the tests.

Teeline Refresher

 

TeeLine RefresherIntended for individuals who have trained previously on the Teeline system, and through a career break or a lack of use at work, feel their skills on this popular shorthand system need some revision. Students are required to be familiar with the TeeLine system prior to the course.


The course takes between 30 and 40 hours and facilitates revision of the entire Teeline system in a concentrated manner and Vocabulary extension and speed development to achieve 60-70 wpm.


A certificate is issued on successful completion of the course.

Shorthand Speed Development

TeeLine Introduction

Intended for individuals who use the TeeLine shorthand system and who wish to improve their speed, particularly where shorthand is a major part of their job function.


The course is available in 10 hour blocks during which students make use of dictation material between 30 to 140 wpm, with varied content eg. Literary, parliamentary and company reports, commercial, general interest etc.


The course includes some theory and requires practice work outside the time spent at the centre.


There is a validation test at the end of this course, and a certificate will be issued on successful completion
