Designed for anyone wishing to use Dreamweaver to develop their own web site. Learners require experience of using a Windows operating system and a mouse, and preferably at least one of the other major office applications such as Word or Excel.


The course lasts about 20 hours and covers the following topics:


Lesson 1: Launching Dreamweaver, Dreamweaver Environment, Previewing in a Browser, Entering Text and Editing Images, Viewing HTML and Download Time.

Lesson 2: Creating a new Web Page, Formatting Text, Saving a Web Page, Working with Images, Working with Backgrounds, Adding a Horizontal Rule.

Lesson 3: Defining a Site, Designating the Home Page, Creating Folders, Working with Templates.

Lesson 4: Importing Text, Importing HTML Text, Working with Line and Paragraph Breaks, Special Characters, Character Formatting, Paragraph Formatting, Creating HTML Styles.

Lesson 5: Creating Links within a Web Site, Creating Links using Browse for File, Creating Links using Point to File, Creating Anchors, Creating External Links.

Lesson 6: Importing an Image, Resizing an Image, Using an Image as a Link, Creating Image Maps, Text Labels for Graphics.

Lesson 7: Creating a Table, Inserting and Deleting Rows and Columns, Formatting Text in Tables, Changing Column Widths, Changing Cell Dividers.

Dreamweaver AdvancedDesigned for anyone wishing to use Dreamweaver to develop their own web site. Learners require a basic knowledge of Dreamweaver, equivalent to our Dreamweaver Introduction course, and preferably at least one of the other major office applications such as Word or Excel.


The course lasts about 20 hours and covers the following topics:


Lesson One – Including: Conceiving a site within the limitations of the users’ screen size, colour depth, connection speed and browser version, Planning your site using a site map, Creating a sensible file structure for your site, Defining a new site in Dreamweaver.

Lesson Two – Including: Setting the page properties of a document, Using the basefont tag, Creating meta tags, Creating cascading style sheets, Creating library objects.

Lesson Three – Including: Using complex table design to layout your pages, Accurately constructing and organising frames and framesets, Creating a menu system using tables, images, frames and links, Duplicating and editing pages.

Lesson Four – Including: Creating java script behaviours, Creating and using HTML styles, Creating and using templates.

Lesson Five – Including: Creating layers, Hand coding java script into a page, Creating and configuring forms, Inserting objects, Editing libraries.

Lesson Six – Including: Checking links, Changing file names using the site map, Editing templates, Using find and replace
