Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Administration  Course (5131)

This course is intended for Windows Server administrators who operate Windows servers on a daily basis and want to learn the skills for configuring, managing, and maintaining the core technical areas of Windows Server 2008.

This course has been designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge to install and configure Windows Server 2008 in workgroup environments and as part of a Windows 2008 domain environment. Students will also be able to configure file, print and terminal services on a Windows 2008 Server.

This course is designed to prepare students to take the Microsoft Exam 70-646 Windows Server 2008, Server Administrator, and is required for the Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) accreditation.

Before attending this course students must have gained the following certifications or have the equivalent knowledge:

MCITP-SA Courses

Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure (5132)

This course is designed for administrators who are involved in planning, implementing, managing and maintaining a Windows Server 2008 network infrastructure.

This course is designed to prepare students to take the Microsoft Exam 70-642: Configuring: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure and leads to (MCTS): Configuring Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure.

This exam also counts as a credit towards Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): Enterprise Administrator and Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): Server Administrator.

Before attending this course, students must have: a basic knowledge or working experience of:-Windows Server 2008; Active Directory; security concepts and methodologies; IPsec; DHCP. A thorough understanding of TCP/IP is required. Students must also have gained the following certifications or have the equivalent knowledge

Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Active Directory (5133)

This course provides students with the information and skills needed to create and administer an Active Directory infrastructure that supports organisational, administrative and security requirements.

This course is designed to prepare candidates for exam 70-640 Configuring Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, and is required for the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS): Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuration. This exam also counts as a credit towards Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP - EA): Enterprise Administrator and Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP - SA): Server Administrator
