Conditions of Enrolment - Self-Paced Courses

1.        Applicants under the age of 18 years must have the consent of their parents or guardians in order to enrol.

2.        On enrolment, a non-refundable deposit of 20% is payable.  The balance is payable prior to commencement of the course.  (All fees are subject to VAT at the ruling rate.)

3.        ONCE THE COURSE HAS STARTED, THE WHOLE FEE IS NOT RETURNABLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

4.        Dishonoured cheques will incur a charge of £10.00 each.

5.        Attendance must be regular and booked in advance.  Absence without notification will result in the loss of the lesson and in case of prolonged absence, this may result in the cancellation of the whole course.

6.        The length of the course has been calculated to allow an average client the time to complete the course, however, this will depend on individual aptitude, as will the degree of proficiency achieved.

7.        Courses should be completed in the specified time.  If the course is not completed within the time agreed, and if the client wishes to carry on with the course, this is at the discretion of the Centre Manager, and an additional fee may be payable.

8.        If the course is not completed within a twelve month period, and if the client wishes to carry on with the course, an additional fee may be payable at the discretion of the Centre Manager.

9.        All clients must use the workbooks and materials specified for the course booked.

10.     Pitman Training will make every effort to ensure that the client reaches the required standard.  It must be appreciated that regular practice is an integral part of the course.

11.     Pitman Training does not supply stationery for home practice.

12.     Where a client fails any of the course validation tests, a charge may be levied to cover the cost of second attempts.

13.     A client who wishes to sit RSA or other external examinations will have to pay the fee to sit these examinations.

14.     Past RSA and external examination papers are available to clients to practice, and will be charged under separate cover.

15.     Pitman Training is unable to accept responsibility for loss or damage to client's property.

16.     Pitman Training reserves the right to dismiss any client who is consistently disruptive or does not attend regularly for lessons.

17.     A full-time diploma is only issued when a client passes all subjects contained in the programme.  If a client does not meet this specification, individual certificates will be issued for the subjects passed.

18.     Smoking is not permitted within the Training Centre.

Conditions of Enrolment - Tutor Led Courses

1.    Course fees must be paid in full at least 7 days prior to the course.  When we receive your booking we will issue joining instructions and an invoice.

2.    When booking multiple courses a block booking discount may be granted subject to payment being made in accordance with para.1 above, or in case of late booking by a date agreed with Centre Management.

2.    In case of cancellation the following charges will be due:

• 15 days or more prior to the course - no charge
• 8 - 14 days prior to the course - 50% of course fee
• Less than 8 days prior to the course - full course fee
   

3.    Pitman Training reserves the right to cancel a course at any time without liability for any consequential or indirect loss.  In the unlikely event of this happening, we will provide a full refund if alternative dates are not available.
